My Story

I grew up in a divorced family in the 70′s so it is real hard to say “where” I grew up.  I moved several times between parents.  I was severely board in school and I wasn’t a big fan of being told what to do.  I often walked around with a chip on my shoulder (even at the age of 5).  I just always thought there was a better ways to do most things. Not necessarily the easy way, but a better way.  I think they call that an “attitude problem”.  By age 9 I had moved with my father overseas to Singapore where I got quite an education. Not just in terms of school (although I was being taught 2 languages and Algebra at the age of 10), the real education came in the cultural form.  My experience took me around the world. From the Bay Area, to Singapore, to Hong Kong, Athens Greece, Fiji, and just about everywhere in between. I returned to the states highly educated and extremely cultured; oh, and still had a really crappy attitude.

With a brief stint living in Florida and then two years in Bollingbrook, Illinois I ended up back in the Bay Area going to junior high in Cupertino. (digress: Budd Rd. was the original Silicon Valley.  About 20 small offices, apple computers, atari, and a few others).  I was soon kicked out of my moms (and I boy did I deserve it) and sent back to Dad’s (who was never around)  and his third wife; and right in the middle of high school.  That sucked! But I deserved it and as it turns out girls in Illinois are real into too California boys.  I didn’t make it long there either. I did finish high school, went back to California and tried Junior College.  School was real easy but so was hanging out doing nothing and causing trouble. My life was going NOWWHERE – fast.

The Decision

“Not everyone can be Michael Jordan, but everyone has a chance to be Nike”  Tripp Mehew

Three days before my 21st birthday I was headed down to San Diego, Ca.  You see, I grew up in a military family, I always figured someday I would join the military, fly airplanes like my old man and Grandfather did, and get my life in order. Well, given the fact that I was NOT making it on my own and still getting in trouble I figured – no better time than right now.  So I joined the military.  But what nobody counted on was the fact that I had joined the Marines!  (A decision I still feel was one of the smartest things I have ever done).  The shock was heard throughout my family and inner circle of close friends. “Are you crazy, you will never make it“, most of them said.  As it turns out, I had many of the qualities that are necessary to thrive in the Marine Corps. A fierce loyalty to cause, a passion for my country and my freedoms, and a focus and drive that  rival most people I know.  I guess I just needed a direction.  The USMC provided that direction.  It also came with structure, a real solid team, and a directed goal.

I spent six years in the USMC.  I served in Gulf War I which was quite an experience.  I ended up with several medals including a Navy Achievement Medal serving in Cambodia during Joint Task Force Full Accounting in 95′as the NCOIC of Airframes.  Not bad for a kid with a chip on his shoulder.  Sebastian, my son, was born in 93′ on Honolulu and where we stayed  until 1996. That is when I got out of the service.  It was there I discovered my love for the ultimate meditation and connection to the Earth – Surfing.  Oh yeah, I managed two solid years in undergraduate school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I only had about 1 year left for my  Professional Aeronautics degree. Marriage wasn’t going so great but everything else was.

The Discovery

After a quick divorce I went to work back in the Bay Area at a telecommunications firm and was raising Sebastian and finishing school.  It was real cool. I met Deja, my current wife at that company, and was having a blast coaching baseball and just playing music.   I was promoted to Engineer and later offered a job with a start-up in San Diego.  I moved in a heartbeat.  Deja soon followed.  Working as a mechanical engineer was great. I was making a good salary.  But the commute was awful and I didn’t get to see Sebastian nearly enough.  I was playing around with the Internet and checked out a company call Global Domains International back in 2003 (I still receive a check from them). They were a simple $10 network marketing company that offered domains as their product and a simple 5 level uni-level plan. I thought, at $10 I am going to have millions of people under me.  Well, I later learned it is just as difficult to get someone to promote a $10 business as it is to get someone to promote a $1000 business. No big deal, I was collecting residual and working at Fujant Inc.  Things were going well. Sebastian and I were surfing San Diego and I bought my first property.  My first exposure to residual income was small but fun.

The Good – (at least the Result)

Then came  September 11, 2001.  No need to elaborate but suffice it to say my job disappeared, my income disappeared, and my mortgage did not disappear.  I bought a pool route and dabbled on the Internet for the next four years.  In 2006 I joined a company and was able to make almost $65,000 in two months.  That was it – I was sold.  Two months later another opportunity came along and I encouraged the members of that old company to join.  We built our organization to about 11,000 and millions of dollars in volume. I was enjoying $30K+ paychecks on my 3rd try at network marketing. Not bad. I really wanted to work on myself and take my life to the next level.  I dove into world of personal development. I love to read and was now reading some real juicy information.  I Co-Authored a book with Tony Robbins, Dr. Wayne Dwyer, Brain Tracy, and many other authors in the Wake Up Live the Life You Love series and started to build my brand.  I also filmed 3 infomercials and created a success system that used T.V. advertising to build a lead system.  Immersed in personal development and focused on success I had really turned a corner. Or so I thought.

The Bad

That same company ended up being sued for $50 million dollars from the FTC and it was soon shut down.  In one night, my paycheck was gone.  Have you ever seen 11,000 network marketers trying to convince the other 11,000 network marketers that everybody needs to join their NEW business. Talk about a feeding frenzy.  Things got real ugly and I admit I fell pray to the blame game.  I started consulting,  I joined a few businesses but mainly stuck with one which I am still apart of today and is one the best network marketing opportunities available and a company I am very proud off.  I credit my ongoing passion and belief in the industry and in myself that has put me where I am today. I could have quit.  Imagine telling you wife your $30K paycheck is GONE!  I can tell you that  losing that amount of residual money is almost worse than never having it.  But it got it worse – much worse.

The Ugly

But in 2008, on New Years Eve, my house burnt down! Yes, and my son decided he wanted to act like a teenager. Oh, and the IRS was auditing us for all the last two years.  I basically took about  a year and half off. Really only working a few hours each week with my team. My infomercial became underfunded and my focus was drawn to my son and fixing my house.  I really missed out on the beginning of the social media world and the affiliate marketing opportunities that were emerging.

The Awesome!

But, just like when I was a kid, I am a quick study and I get laser focused on an objective.  Studying personal development and attending the coaching system of Tony Robbins I haven gotten back on track and my team, my JV’s , my network, and my net worth are all skyrocketing.  My focus is on developing products and services that assist people in their home businesses and online marketing.  I love helping people create  Extraordinary Lives.   I also offer coaching to a select group of individuals and offer up my INNER  CIRCLE  to the people that truly desire to achieve  FREEDOM.
