Blogging Your Way to Financial Freedom
Blogging Your Way to Financial Freedom
Article by Greg Thompson
Blogging is fast becoming the most popular pastime for the internet geeks of today (me included!). It is an easy way to get people to read about any subject you wanted from alien abductions to how to knit your own scarf.
As the internet is becoming more and more accessible there are more people logging on interested in more and more diverse subjects. In my experience there are generally 3 types of bloggers out there on the web;
1. The Hobby Blogger – This is where people just enjoy going online and sharing their experiences, knowledge and interacting within the blogging community. Generally you will get people blogging about their pets, their favourite sport including the team they play for, a blog in the life (sharing what they get up to).
2. The Marketing Blogger – These are people who blog about anything they can make a buck from (like you and me!!). You will see anything from how to train your dog, product review sites, how to sites etc.3. The Brainwash Blogger – These are the people trying to convince you to believe in something they believe in. It can be anything from religious beliefs to spreading the word on a new power plant going up near them and their petition to stop it.
You will have to excuse the terms above, they are just phrases I use to pigeonhole bloggers.
What Should You Blog About?
Ideally you should blog about something you have a good interest in, maybe a keen hobby. This way you can pass on your knowledge to other people and gain a following without losing interest and getting bored.
Other things you can blog about are things that interest you or anything that you have wanted to learn more about. This way you can research the subject, learn new things and then share this with your readers, again without getting bored.
You can see from the above that the main thing is you blog about something you will not lose interest in a few months down the line otherwise you will just be wasting your time.
How to Make Money from the Blog?
This is actually the easy bit, affiliate marketing. This is where you promote other peoples products and take a commission on their sales.
For example – You may be interested in hiking so your blog will contain stories of the last hikes you went on, future hiking plans, wish list of places to go to, 10 best hiking routes in XXXX etc. You only need to create small posts if you want, say about 300 words or more. This way you are gaining interest from your readers and getting more followers. Then every so often you add in a review or information about something you just bought i.e. boots, jackets etc. (oh and buy these from your affiliate link if they are a good price!!).
To find these offers just type in what you want followed by affiliate into Google e.g. “hiking boots affiliate”. Then sign up to the affiliate program and post the link within your post and that’s it.Not only this but you can place banner adverts for hiking stores (or whatever affiliate links you have) on the left or right columns on the blog giving more opportunities for people to buy things through you.
What Should Be In The Blog?
About Me Page – This enables your readers to know more information about you and why they should listen to your point of view.
Affiliate Links – This is where the money is. Not just in the blog posts but you can put banners in the columns on the left or right of the page.
RSS Feed – This will ensure that your readers are kept up to date with any new posts especially the ones with affiliate links in.
Want to Make More Money?
If you want to make more money than just with one or two blogs there are bits of software out there which will automatically create loads of content for your blogs. The newest piece of software out there is called Profit Jackpot.
This piece of software not only creates fresh new content for blogs on any subject but it also adds lots of comments from different people. This creates a more appealing and popular looking blog which helps gain the trust of your readers. Check out my Profit Jackpot Review and see if it is the right thing for you.
